Grant Burge Icon wines are named in honour of Meshach Burge, and the biblical origins of his name. Abednego, or ‘Servant of Nego’ the Babylonian god of wisdom, brings together the three varieties of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre .
TASTING NOTES
The 2016 Abednego allows all three varieties to shine - spice and earthy characters from the Grenache, powerful yet elegant tannin structure and mid palate weight from the Shiraz, and a vibrancy and fruit richness from the Mourvédre. The bouquet offers lifted spices and earth with vibrant dark fruits. The palate is powerful, rich and dense with fruit vibrancy, long persistent tannins. Balanced by richness and sweetness of fruit.
