region Barossa Valley
size 3x750ml

"Our fourth release of this wine. The majority of fruit for this wine comes from the Southern Barossa. The Cabernet Sauvignon portion was sourced from the outstanding Cameron Vale vineyard, with the Shiraz picked from the 100-year-old Filsell vineyard adding to the pedigree of the wine." Craig Stansborough, Chief Winemaker

Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) Shiraz (40%) Rich dark purple with a bright and vibrant hue. The aromatic intensity is impressive with heightened dried spice of ground turmeric and ginger with traditional leafy to cool mint overlay and a toasted hazelnut note. Dried lavender and fresh curry leaf also feature, highlighting the strong aromatic complexity of the wine. There is no holding back on the palate. Blackberry and spice dominating the middle palate, with notes of dark cocoa powder layered in the background. Brilliantly balanced with warm spice and sweet vanilla, that are influenced by the oak usage and a firm, yet silky, tannin structure.  Perfect with gamey meats or hard cheeses.

Peak Drinking 2032+

94+ POINTS Andrew Calliard 2022 "Medium deep crimson. Fresh blackcurrant, black berry, dark plum, dark chocolate aromas with herb garden/ chinotto notes. Well concentrated claret style with attractive blackcurrant, blackberry fruits, fine grainy/ touch al dente tannins and underlying dark chocolate/ mocha notes. Finishes cedar firm and inky with very good mineral length. Elegantly styled rather than being overly powerful. Keep for a while and it should develop very well. Drink now – 2032 14.5% alc"

95 GOLD POINTS - Halliday Rating - Dave Brooks Dec 2023 - "A blend of 60/40% cabernet sauvignon/shiraz from select parcels of Barossa fruit. Deep crimson with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry cut with hints of spice, mountain herbs, violets, cedar, sage, nutmeg, undergrowth, mint, turned earth and licorice. There's a lovely fruit weight on the palate, pure and graceful with fine, commanding tannins, a sprig of spearmint and a finish that sails off persistently with lingering flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant, cedar and spice.

95 POINTS - The Real review - Houn Hooke -11 August 2022 - "Deep dark red with a tinge of purple and a hearty oak-infused bouquet, cassisy cabernet aromas shining through as well as smoky/meaty shiraz. It's full bodied and firmly structured with abundant tannins and a firm final grip. Concentrated flavour with a fruit-sweet core and the whole thing is swaddled in a firm wrap of tannin. Excellent wine, long term, with a bright future."
