Typically spicy Petaluma in style, the 2006 is a medium colour density wine with soft, sandy, abundant natural tannins that will rank alongside the best vintage from Coonawarra.
TASTING NOTES
The 2006 Petaluma Coonawarra is a blend predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon (48%) and Merlot (37%) with smaller portions of Shiraz (10%) and Malbec (5%). This is the first use of Shiraz since 1982 and only the second vintage with Malbec, since the first Petaluma Coonawarra vintage in 1979 and has produced a wonderful ripe, full flavoured dry red wine.
